She has played a crucial role in shaping the space around sustainable technology innovation and dissemination, grassroots entrepreneurship models and associated policy initiatives through TIDE and Sustaintech. The experience that she brings from being on the board of various other enterprises and facilitating organizations in this sector is of immense value to CLEAN
Dr. Hande is an engineer and a renewable energy entrepreneur with over 20 years of grassroots experience in meeting the energy requirements of underserved communities.
He is the co-founder of SELCO Solar Pvt. Ltd (SELCO India) of which he is currently the Managing Director. He was awarded the Magsaysay Award in 2011 for his work on energy access for the rural poor. He also serves on the boards of a number of national and international organizations bringing in a global perspective to the activities of CLEAN.
Dr. Ghosh is the CEO of the Council on Energy, Environment and Water, an independent policy research institution in India.
He advises governments, industry and civil society around the world on energy and resources security, renewable energy policy, water governance and institutions, climate governance, energy-trade-climate linkages and international regime design. He brings a multidisciplinary approach to the board focusing on how energy interacts with other sectors and spheres of life.
Fazle Muztaba is an ex-banker and entrepreneur with an experience of 6 years in renewable energy sector. He is the co-founder & COO of Envo Business Solutions Pvt. Ltd., a rural energy enterprise working for the underserved communities of the Northeastern Region of India. His experience of working in the most remote and vulnerable areas of the region will bring in a regional perspective to the activities of the CLEAN.
Dr. Priyadarshini Karve completed Ph.D. in Physics from University of Pune, in 1998.
Her first research project resulted in development of a process for converting agricultural waste into charcoal. The technology won the Ashden Award for Renewable Energy in 2002. In a career spanning more than 20 years, Dr. Karve invented a number of improved biomass burning cooking devices, to reduce smoke in the kitchen and dependence on firewood for domestic cooking in rural areas. She has also worked on “organic waste to fuel” technologies.
Mr Mathur is a private equity and corporate finance professional with over 15 years of experience in Investments, Cross-Border M&A and Capital Raisings. Under Mr Mathur’s leadership, Simpa has employed innovative financing structures to make solar energy affordable and accessible to rural energy-poor households and shops in rural India.
Mr Mathur is a qualified Chartered Accountant and has received MBA from London Business School.
COL. VIJAY BHASKAR
Col Vijay Bhaskar was commissioned in the Indian Army Corps of Engineers in 1982. He is an alumni of the National Defence Academy and the Defence Services Staff College, Wellington. He is Country Director-India for the Paris based Mlinda Foundation from Apr 2011. In June 2016, Mlinda began executing a 50 villages mini-grid project in Gumla, Jharkhand.
Raghu has been nurturing E-Hands Energy, currently at installed capacity of 900KW of DRE with micro wind & solar in 400 towns/villages of India; as a responsible social enterprise since 2009.
Over the past 6 he has facilitated and enabled grants over INR 250 Million to 300 NGOs leading to significant social impact on rural livelihood & employment, in his capacity as the Honorary Treasurer & Founding Board Member of United Way Chennai (UWC), an affiliate of world’s largest private charity. Raghu is also the Founding Director of CLEAN.
Ekta Jaju is a Social Entrepreneur, and Founder and CEO at ONganic Foods, a Social Agri-Business that promotes Seed to Shelf model for small organic farmers, with the goal to doubling their incomes in 5 years. Ekta has Co-Founded Switch ON and ONergy Solar – impacting over 10 lac lives. Ekta has a strong experience and led initiative in the areas of Sustainable Energy, Agriculture and sustainable development. She has been consultants to national and international organisations including UN Women, and GIZ.
