Amit Saraogi is CEO and co-founder of Oorja Development Solutions Limited, a social enterprise that aims to close the energy access gap by deploying decentralized solar assets for agricultural use through a pioneering pay-per-use business model in rural India. He brings to Oorja strategic direction and aptitude for critical decision-making to scale operation in order to maximize impact. He is the business lead, responsible for business development, operations, financial management and partnership engagements. He previously spent 20 years in investment banking, business consulting and development practice in India, US and Switzerland. He holds a Master’s in International Development from Columbia University, New York and a Bachelor’s in Business Studies from Sydenham College, Mumbai. He is a recipient of the prestigious Opportunity Collaboration Fellowship 2022, SOCAP Entrepreneur Scholarship 2017, Echoing Green Climate Fellowship 2015, and was named as a finalist for the Waislitz Global Citizen Award 2021 and 100 Most Inspiring Social Entrepreneurs Around the World by Social Enablers in 2017.
